To take full advantage of all the features of the online meeting room, we recommend to use one of the latest versions of the Chrome or Firefox browser. With the Chrome / Firefox browser you will be able to use all features including screen sharing. The following short video (90 sec) shows you the major features of the online meeting room.

Your first steps in the online meeting room should be:

  1. Unmute yourself by clicking on the microphone icon.
  2. Turn on your camera to start a live video broadcast by clicking on the camera icon.
  3. The participant who first enters the online meeting room has the moderator and presentation rights at the beginning. This is indicated by the blue „screen icon“ in the upper left corner of the participants initials. If you want to hand over the presentation rights, click on the name of your meeting partner and on „Promote to moderator“ in thr drop-down menu. Alternatively, your meeting partner can do this himself.
  4. The presenter has the option of uploading a presentation using the upload button or sharing his screen using the screen-sharing button.
  5. Start your presentation.

Trouble Shooting

  1. No audio: Disconnect from audio by clicking on the blue phone icon. Try to reconnect via VOIP. If this does not work, please dial in with the phone number +49-6421-5804-000. Press the '0' key on your phone to mute or unlock. The phone call only works if your meeting partner is already in the meeting room!
  2. Error 1007 appears: Audio problems, please dial in with the phone number and PIN provided.
  3. Phone number does not work: The phone number only works if your meeting partner is already in the meeting room. Try to dial in again later.
  4. Disconnect from your companies VPN connection: VPN connections are usually very restrictive. If you are using the VPN access of your company network, please turn off VPN for the duration of your meetings.

In the unlikely event that you are unable to log into the online meeting room,

  • use ZOOM, Webex, Skype or other web conferencing systems or
  • call your meeting partner. His/her phone number is provided in your agenda and on the profile page of your meeting partner.

1. Browser recommendations

  • Desktop/Laptop: Chrome, Firefox or Edge (latest versions), NOTE: You can use Safari on Mac OS X, but you will not be able to access the screen sharing feature.
  • Mobile iOS (12.2+): Safari Mobile, IOS does not support screen sharing
  • Mobile Android (6.0+): Chrome Mobile
  • At this time the IE and legacy EDGE browsers are not supported.

2. Computer recommendations

  • Laptop or desktop computer with (at least) 4GB of memory and a 2Ghz processor
    Most computers bought in the last four years should meet the minimum requirement.
  • Audio: We strongly recommend using a headset. A headset will ensure that others can hear your voice clearly and you don’t cause echo or background noise for others.
  • Bandwidth presenter role: at least 2.0 Mbits/second upstream and 5 Mbits/second downstream.
  • Bandwidth viewer role: at least 1.0 Mbits/second upstream and 2 Mbits/second downstream

3. Internet Speed Test

  • Check your internet bandwidth to see if your internet meets the speed requirements. Sites such as andcom can be used to measure your internet connectivity.
  • Presenters should pay close attention to the upload speed as it will greatly impact the user experience.
  • Please close all other online communication tools like Skype, TEAMS, ZOOM, Netflix … while joining your B2B online meetings.
  • Ask household members to refrain from using bandwidth intensive activities such as gaming online or streaming media while you are presenting as these activities can diminish the bandwidth needed for web conferencing.

4. Mobile device recommendations

  • For data network, we recommended 4G LTI for best results or minimum 3G Network to use audio, view presentation content, and receive screen sharing.
  • For connection via wireless, we recommend private versus public networks.
  • For device settings, we recommend reducing device usage while connecting to your meeting; close applications that may run in the background and reduce browsing activities.
  • IMPORTANT: screen sharing is not supported from mobile devices. Presenters who wish to use the screen sharing function should use a laptop, desktop, or Chromebook device.
